Stayed for a week in one of the RV’s they have setup on the site. It was a great setup for 2 couples (and a dog) facilities were clean and great shape and the hosts Don and Julia were SO NICE and really helpful. Great fishing for salmon and halibut 10 minutes from the dock. Amazing stay.

Hi , My name is Mary Wakefield, and last week I was the first woman to solo stand up paddle board from Port Hardy to Winter Cover. 160KM over 5 days.
I arrived at the Winder Harbour Marina with no reservations, and was greeted like I came home to family!! Cold Beer, fresh cooked crab...and hospitality that I will never forget! Thank you so so much.

Winter Harbour Marina is charming, friendly, inclusive and a great place to fish! We arrived with a flat trailer tire. A pleasant local - friend of the managers - volunteered to get it fixed in Port Hardy, a rough two hour drive. He had an errand there; brought back the tire the next day. Another guest lent us his commercial grade vacuum bagger to preserve our catch. Meanwhile, excellent managers Julia and Don could not have been more helpful and pleasant.
Small campsites but great dock space and very clean wash rooms.
Plus lots of visiting Sea Otters. We'll be back!

Julie and Don are great hosts, they are very helpful and make your stay enjoyable. The dock is right outside your door which is great, cleaning stations and water on dock makes it very easy to process your catch, campsite is clean and well looked after.
We would recommend Winter Harbour to everyone who likes great fishing, clean and organized campsites.

Winter Harbor Marina and RV is an amazing place to visit for exploration and fishing! Considering the location, prices are good and you are surrounded by nature. While luck is always a factor, we often see black bears, sea otters, humpback whales, porpoises and more! Not to mention the fishing is great! We went out on a charter with them, and the focus of the charter was fair, competitive sports fishing. It was a very different take on fishing and while it sometimes takes a bit to get a fish, the experience of fighting fish with them was beyond anything I could imagine. While motor mooching for Coho (at the time of writing, you can keep wild Coho here!) I hooked something big in 44ft of water. At first i was nervous, the leader was only rated for 12 pounds, so I had to be patient and work with the fish as it took another 40ft of line, then 60, then 100ft, then more. After 40 min of slowly working the fish on this heavy fly rod and reel, we finally got it to the surface and saw it was a beast of a halibut, atleast 50 pounds, too close to the legal limit to gaff. So he went for the net while the fish dove again to 100ft, and the fight continued. After 2 more surfacings, we finally netted the halibut and it came in at 122cm, we estimate 55-60 pounds. It is by far the most amazing fishing achievement of my life, needing to balance the zero drag reel with the 12 pound leader. It gave me a new perspective on sports fishing and I am very excited to try other fishing techniques at winter harbor in the future!

My three 30-something sons and I had a fantastic week at the Winter Harbour Marina cabin. We had great fishing trip. Caught lots of coho, chinook and hali. The managers of the marina and cabin, Mike and Patty, were amazing. Mike helped with fishing advice and Patty had the rustic cabin so well set up for fishing, it couldn't have been better. Their hospitality was top notch. If you and 3 others want to have a great trip, book this place!

They bend over backwards to make your stay a good one. The power went out for over 12 hours and Mike made sure we all had enough ice to keep our fish cool.
