Update: This person /owner has not refunded anything and I had to dispute with bank. I will be reporting this the Better Business Bureau and who ever else I can. I'm tired of people like this who think it's ok to steal peoples money! She never showed up at all to the consultation and lied saying she was five minute late when I screen shorted the time I sat waiting.

Just on principle this owner and business sets a bad example for BLACK OWNED BUSINESSES. Literally lied on here
Unorganized and bad customer service. I scheduled a hair consultation for a time they show available on their website and the person never showed up. I called for refund and was hung up on by who I believe was the owner because I didn't want to reschedule. I wasn't rude just asked for refund. She states she is with a client and wants to reschedule I said no, she then wants to FaceTime me after consultation time while with a client and I said no. She says well there is no refund. Nothing on their website now mentions this service being non-refundable. You were not able to provide a consultation at time scheduled, then being very unprofessional about it. Why would I want to reschedule or book anything with this business. And I can guarantee there is late fee or no refund policy for customers that are late or no show.

Thanks for the reply and I appreciate being provided a refund! Had this been offered over the phone and I not be hung up on, the review wouldn't have been placed. Your response on here doesn't match the call I had with you , the scheduled zoom meeting i also screenshoot waiting 5 & 15 mins in or the other people's reviews I saw. FYI I support blacks business otherwise I wouldn't have BOOKED with you. It doesn't give you the right to handle me the way you did. I CLEARLY liked the work I saw on IG which is why I contacted your place of business. While I understand things happen, if I can't reschedule at the time you want me to then you should be able to understand that as well. I would have circled back because of the work I seen, but now I'm just glad I don't have to get my bank involved. This is my last response and have a blessed day!

I had Demetria. Let me start off by saying she was on point with everything. Custmer service how clean and gentle she was with my hair. I love this shop. I highly recommend it to any one that is in need of loc start up or retwist. Positive vibes and good energy is what you are going to feel and you are going to love your hair. Hands down great prices and a wonderful experience. Book a consultation and check them out!!!

I scheduled with the owner. Arrived to discover that I was scheduled with someone else. Give the customer a courtesy call to see if they want someone else. Based on the reviews, this seems to be par for the course. One of the stylists even said out loud that she had a client for reattachments and had never done it besides on the mannequin..... I waited over half an hour with no one there to do the service. They later tried to say it wasn't that long, but I know because I took a salty picture and sent it to a friend at 10:30 while I was still waiting for my 10am appointment.

The lady from the front desk washed my hair. (Is this even kosher?) She even said to one of the other stylists how they are professionals and she is not..... During the shampoo, the owner came back to explain I'd be seeing someone else; which I already knew at that point.

I had Monty and he did a great job!!!! He was extremely personable and professional. The only saving grace from this appointment. And I'd totally see him again if he worked somewhere else.

I was charged for three hours despite the fact that my service was less than two hours. Bear in mind I did not start on time and was sitting in the room at the end by myself for almost 30 minutes. This is when they tried to convince me my service started at 10am. The lady from the front desk called the owner who gave a $15 discount. The difference between 2 hours and 3 hours is $75.....I paid what they said I owed, tipped my stylist and left. I won't be a returning customer.

I personally had an awesome experience yesterday. The establishment opened on time and the owners ensured I had the color that I wanted with guidance on the correct kind for my hair. They checked on me frequently and made sure that I was happy with my results. I appreciate a black owned business that caters to our black community and promotes growth within their clients in addition to providing self made products and next steps especially for our locs. Monty was my stylist and he was warm and inviting!! I will definitely go back.

The service I received from the loctitian, Bri, was phenomenal but per usual with some businesses in houston the owner lacks customer service and common decency. She came up to check me out with an nasty attitude, told me I couldn’t use a coupon that I got on their rewards program (which of course she only stated afterwards), then took a picture of my license on her PERSONAL PHONE (of her own admission) since i paid with card saying “it’s secure” and to “prevent fraud”. So now if she loses her phone, someone steals it, or hacks her icloud multiple people’s info is now compromised. Again, only after I paid was I told this information.
I’ve used them before but fortunately never had the displeasure to meet her. Make sure you pay attention to why their rating is less than 4 stars. She truly ruined an otherwise good experience, the two stars are for Bri.

Deposit was $500, The day before her appt I wanted to cancel and was told that I would not be able to get my $500 deposit back if I canceled. My daughter hair
was consulted the price $1160 the day I paid the $500. When I brought my daughter to get her extensions the price went up to $1275. My daughter got her hair locked one month before school started to be exact she lost 2 locs before school. She has even lost locs while at school up to now she has lost a total of 10 loc extensions they're thinning and coming out when she's putting her hair up. I feel like I got jipped, exploited and my daughter is embarrassed. I took faith out on this company in hopes that my daughter would have a carefree look. $1275 is a complete robbery for how her hair looks now.

Hello,

I had an amazing experience with Miss Shenate. The type of dread extensions she did for me are crochet dreads. This was an huge investment for me, I needed them to come out the way I envisioned. She has truly amazing energy, professional, easy to talk to, etc. I cant even explain the great conversations I had with her the ENTIRE time I was there. She went way beyond what was expected! Very knowledgeable even if you don't know what questions to ask she will make you aware. I also had the pleasure of meeting one of the stylist that works at the Loc Den. Her name is ginger she was the sweetest person ever, great energy, professional, etc. I'm so in love with my hair it's everything I wanted. I would recommend her without a doubt. This is an all day process so please be prepared. The shop is very clean and the bathroom is extremely beautiful for the bathroom people lol. Overall, you'll be making the right decision by choosing the Loc Den, Handsdown.
