As an Ex-Civil Servant I am eligible to join this association. I visited to look around and decide if it might be somewhere I can go on occasions to socialize. I was startled to discover an amazing place like this existed for so many years and I never heard about it, when I was employed over 10 years in a Government Department. The venue has full Wheelchair access which I require and a small lift to take you upstairs to higher levels and hotel rooms. The restaurant area is large and easily accommodated my Electric Powered Indoor and Outdoor Chair. I had a meal, and the waitress simply moved 2 chairs so I could sit at the table in my Wheelchair comfortably. I ordered a very delicious meal from the menu and a soft drink. It was a very pleasant experience and I decided to join, on the strength of that first visit based on the fantastic hospitality I received and welcome from all the staff I encountered, Front of House. A really well kept Jewel. I'm privileged to say, that I am now a fully paid up member for One Year! A great experience I would definitely recommend if this type of place is of interest to you. Open to serving members of The Civil Service, Ex-Workers in the Service like myself and Spouses of workers. Friends can be invited, but, must be signed in and accounted for at the Reception Desk.

A very classic place along the infamous Scotland Yard. Front reception and bar manager and staff are very welcoming for a foreign visitor. Food was great and decent portion. Would have love more time to explore it further.

This is one of my favourite places to go to in London for a drink and a bite to eat with friends or family. The atmosphere is really nice and reminds me of the old family pubs and clubs I used to go to in the 80s and 90s.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, serving a decent selection of drinks and food. Neither the decor nor the menu are overly fussy, giving this place a real homely feel. I don't get to come here as often as I would like, but when I do, I love it every time.

Although I have not stayed in any of the hotel rooms they offer, I have been told they, too, offer great value for money. The same is true. I have been similarly told, of the private rooms they hire for parties, etc.

I've been here quite a few times now. It's a nice place, conveniently central, with a reasonable selection of beers and wines.

It's a members only place, but if you are a member, or know one, I'd recommend it.

If you are a civil servant, or an ex CS, especially one who finds themselves in Westminster a fair bit,I'd consider getting the membership.

We joined the Civil Service Club first and foremost because of its location. One stop from Waterloo, 3 minutes walk from Embankment tube and minutes away from Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden. It's perfect. And it gets better when you get inside. Unbelievably good value food - a 10oz sirloin steak, cooked to perfection with all the trimmings for £15.95 - was my highlight. A huge full English breakfast (or other alternatives) included in your room price (£154) for my wife and I, and a comfortable, clean, well equipped twin bed room. It's great value and I have booked single rooms through the summer for my visits to the Oval - only 4 stops south on the Northern Line. Every member of staff we encountered were friendly, professional and unfailingly helpful. I can't recommend membership here highly enough.

A calm and low key retreat in central London. Have a delicious meal for two (sea bass and katsu curry, apple pie and soft drinks) for just 40 quid. Best to book in advance as most tables are reserved at busy times.
