Court séjour, mais très bon séjour chez Andrea (et Pickle!). |Nous nous sommes sentis à l’aise dans cette maison qui vit. |La suite Nord était immense, tout comme la salle de bain. Elle convient autant à un couple d’amoureux qu’à une famille de 4 personnes. |Grand confort et propreté. |Très calme. |Petit déjeuner servi selon vos goûts et à l’heure qui vous convient.

Nous ne nous sommes pas sentis bien dans ce bed and breakfast. Malgré le dynamisme et la disponibilité de la maîtresse des lieux, nous avons trouvé la chambre sale et les lieux manquant de tenue et d'ordre. Beaucoup de poussière dans la chambre, vitres sales, cuisine bordélique, abords de la maison en travaux. Nous ne sommes pas contre un endroit un peu bohême ou artiste à condition qu'il ait un certain charme...Ce qui n'est pas le cas de ce bed and breakfast. Le divan du salon est impraticable à cause des poils du gentil toutou qui le squatte...Le jardin est agréable mais les chaises sont à moitié bancales...Le samedi matin, nous avons dû débarrasser nous-mêmes la table du petit déjeuner qui avait été occupée par d'autres, faire nous-mêmes la vaisselle pour avoir des assiettes propres et nous servir de ce que nous avons pu trouver dans le frigo...Nous avons trouvé l'endroit cher pour le service offert...

Notre excellente hôte, Andréa, nous a très bien accueillis malgré l'heure tardive (le ferry arrivant très tard). Andréa est vraiment gentille, agréable et proche des voyageurs. On est tout de suite à l'aise. Nous avons apprécié les copieux petits déjeuners (sommes restés deux nuits). Elle laisse sa cuisine à disposition avec du café, céréales.... Il y avait plein de DVDs et d'ouvrages à disposition. Toutefois, même si notre chambre était spacieuse, nous avons remarqué de la poussière sur les étagères au-dessus de la tête de lit ainsi qu'à d'autres endroits du B&B. Nous avons eu l'impression que les draps n'avaient été changés avant notre arrivée. Elle propose de laver les serviettes au bout d'une journée. La chambre et la salle de bains auraient besoin, selon nous, d'être rafraichies par des petits travaux d'embellissement.

Nous sommes arrivés très tard du ferry. Une note nous attendant sur la porte d'entrée pour nous indiquer nos chambres. C'est un peu bricolé, pas vraiment fini et moyennement soigné!! On sent que les moyens n'y sont peut-être pas ou alors ce n'est pas tout à fait fin! Andréa nous a préparé le petit-déjeuner sans problème. Le rapport qualité-prix est très limite.

If you want to talk about the visual aspects of this bed-and-breakfast, it is a very nice looking place. It truly gives a spa vibe. Specially, with all the candles in the bathroom and well set living room. We stayed at the downstairs bedroom. Which had a very nice bathroom and the bedroom was clean and organized.
One negative point about the bathroom was that the Gillette blade placed in the cupboard was actually used so we did not use anything else from that cupboard. Luckily, we had a lot of shampoo and stuff with us.
Our next feedback is about kitchen and the breakfast. The kitchen is absolutely gorgeous and there is a nice trail in the backyard. The host on the other hand is a completely different story. When we went for breakfast, she seemed not welcoming at all. Something that we had never experienced in our other bed-and-breakfast experiences. She barely talked to us. And all her conversation was what do you want for breakfast? There was another couple there too, which had the similar experience. And when we started a bit of morning, talk to her she seem like she’s not having a good time and not friendly at all. So we decided not to talk to her. We had our breakfast, which was made well.
So to conclude this review, this place is a beautiful place to stay at. You might find flaws in hygiene and if you don’t expect any warm welcoming host that is a good place to book. I don’t think we would book this place anymore.

I booked our stay with this host through Airbnb at the beginning of February for nearly a week. Our problems started as soon as we checked-in. She didn’t mention, nor does she state anywhere on her airbnb profile or website, that she has 3 *very* vocal dogs who bark when you enter the building…. Every time you enter. We brought two pups of our own who are well behaved, but were startled by that welcome. The room was nice, and clean-ish… In the bathroom, we noticed a big puddle of dog pee in the corner that was dried up (not from either of our dogs).

A day or two into our stay, my partner was in the bathroom getting undressed and the cleaner opened the door from the communal area. It was not communicated by the host that she would be around. The door was left unlocked because I was out of the room for a brief moment. Huge safety/privacy issue.

Next, around 1/1:30am, there was a disturbance that occurred right outside of our bedroom door. Between a man and a woman who we believed was the host and her husband (we hadn’t met them at this point and again, no communication on their part). There was yelling, stomping, things being thrown and/or knocked over, dogs yelping. We felt unsafe in this situation, and weren’t sure if we should call the police for a possible DV situation. The next morning, we didn’t receive any messages from the host regarding that situation- no apologies for the disturbance, they didn’t check-in whatsoever. We submitted a safety issue complaint with Airbnb that day (for the disturbance and the situation with the cleaner) and were actively searching for a hotel room for the remainder of our stay, no luck so we toughed it out at Tall Trees.

We had breakfast twice during our stay, and the host mentioned to us that she owned a distillery. Cool, we were impressed to hear that. In the communal area, she had a mini bottle of aperitif that we wanted to check out and try for ourselves. We were on our way to 11th ave liquor store which is right down the street, less than a 2 minute drive from tall trees, so we took the bottle to ask the store if they sold it. We were accused of stealing, not the case- we talked it through with them after returning to the airbnb around 5 minutes later. She left a bad review on the airbnb app and stated that our very real privacy and safety concerns stemmed from getting caught “stealing”.

I really wanted to like this place, it’s a beautiful property in a great location. It’s a bummer that things turned out this way. *if* the communication was better on their part, it would feel much safer in that space. If you have reactive or timid dogs, i recommend staying away from this place. If you have issues with passive aggressive hosts, I recommend staying away from this place. If you want a clean, quiet, safe place to stay while in Prince Rupert, you’re better off staying at a hotel.

Traveled with friends, and were able to get several rooms together. Very clean, very comfy, walking distance to town. Breakfast was great. Hostess was very helpful regarding restaurants and attractions. Literature was provided.
