I've got nothing but praise for this company. We hired a California for a 10 day trip to Scotland and the van made the trip extremely easy and comfortable, allowing us to easily visit and spend the day at all of the places we'd planned.

The van was fully equipped and was a breeze to drive and park thanks to the excellent turning circle, adaptive cruise, parking sensors all around and reversing camera. The California is so well designed with everything you need neatly built into the van. We slept really well thanks to the comfortable beds and built-in blackout blinds, it was very quiet in the van at night.

The detailed guide to the van on handover made the first night a breeze having not been away in a camper previously. All in all, the hire process was hassle free and everyone we met at the company were very friendly and professional - highly recommended!

Recently spent a week away in one of the VW Californias, it’s been one of the best holidays we’ve had. The campervan was spotless and well equipped, a doddle to drive, park, and live in. Just fab. Company friendly and efficient to deal with, a comprehensive introduction to how everything works, and great advice when we made a rookie error. We will be back as soon as we can - can’t wait to do it all over again.

The service we received from this fabulous family run company was exceptional. From initial enquiries, to picking the van up on the day of hire, through to return of deposit, it was great. Sally and Nigel showed us how everything worked in the almost brand new van.
The van was a VW Californian and was a pleasure to drive. The only downside was that they wouldn't swop it for my car at the end!!

A very highly recommended company is Lakes Campervans. We hired a van from these and wow what a van. Virtually brand new VW T6 california coast with everything fully equipped for your travels and camping experience. Van was a pleasure to drive with its 7 speed auto gearbox and radar adaptive cruise control. Van was spotlessly clean inside and out. Had a retractable awning and table and chairs to enjoy your meals outside. We travelled north to tour Scotland and as we came from the Midlands i thought Lakes Campervans was ideally located for us to maximise our hire period and we left our car on their secure carpark whilst we enjoyed our holidays. The fuel policy is take it out full and bring back full can't get more fair than that. Overall a superb experience and im sure i will be using these guys again in the future. Thank you Lakes Campervans for a fantastic experience. 😃

Sally and team were fantastic.
Picked us up from the station and it was all really easy. We had a brand new VW California with no issues.
Never felt like anyone wanted to rip you off with hidden fees etc like other companies

Would Definitely recommend Lakes Camper vans. The California Vans are immaculate, the communications from booking to arrival for pickup were excellent. All instructions were given before we drove off. We hired the Van for a weekend over in the north east coast, just brilliant service. We’re planning our next trip already!
