Driving through to Laurel, MS and we stopped for dinner based on reviews and our love for excellent food. We especially love food prepared with ingredients from local farmers! WOW!! Lou’s was amazing! Our server, Marie, was absolutely fantastic! She recommended the 3 year in a row award winning bread pudding!! Speechless delicious! Lou’s was an excellent addition to our trip and the hospitality is unlike any other! A must!!

A Jackson favorite, I can always count on Lou's to deliver! I miss living in Jackson just so I could eat him more. However, when I do come home, this is one of the first places I go. His burgers are hands-down some of the best I've ever had. This steaks and other specials are top-notch, honestly you can't go wrong with any of them. If you're looking for Southern-style food, this is definitely a must. If you have not gone here, I highly recommended. You will not be sorry!

2024 Update: it's still one of the best (if not THE) places to eat in Jackson. The No7 Burger is the best I've ever had!!!!!!!!!

Stopped in for dinner the other night and it was a fantastic experience! The vibe is inviting & cozy. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who were both friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We enjoyed the Comeback Wedge salad, the Teres Major (steak dish), and the Redfish #2. All 3 were extremely good! Whether you're looking for a special night out or just craving some fantastic food, this place delivers. It's a five-star gem that I'll definitely be returning to soon.

I recently called to place a takeout order, and while we’ve always had fantastic experiences with the food, this situation was surprising. It was around 1:00 PM when I called, and I was told that it was “rush hour” and they couldn’t accept my order. I understand how hectic peak times can be, but it was disappointing to be turned away.

This is more of a suggestion for management. Perhaps there could be a system in place to accommodate takeout orders during busy periods, as we truly enjoy your food and would love to continue supporting your business. I hope this feedback is helpful!

We loved dining at the old location, and we were excited about transition the new sandwich shop (didn't like it at all) into the new Lou's Full Serve (yay!). Unfortunately, after a lunch and a dinner experience, we won't be back. The food is more miss than hit, but the real shame is the staff experience....or rather, lack of experience. We felt neither welcomed nor wanted, and we were relieved it was over when we walked out. Perhaps my biggest irritation at any fine dining restaurant is to be handed my plate, rather than placing it on the table for me. It's the little things that make an experience great. And as I always say, great service can sometimes overcome average food. But average food can never overcome poor service.

Arrived about 5:30 on a Sat night and Lou’s was already booked until closing. Could eat at bar or outside. Menu isn’t small but only thing that appealed to either of us was onion rings and the salmon. Onion rings were terrific, and enough to feed 4. Tasted great without dipping sauce. Remoulade wasn’t bad but I’d recommend the comeback instead. The salmon dish looked fantastic. Had a few fried green tomatoes underneath that got soggy and lost their crispness. Sauce was fine with plenty of crawfish. Problem was the fish had an overwhelming taste of smoke. Like it was cooked in a bottle of liquid smoke. Simply ruined the dish. The entree contained no vegetables so those are extra. The carrots were bland and the crispy cauliflower was not crispy. There is no salad included or bread.
