Really surprised by all the 5 star reviews here as our experience was pretty awful. Communication was terrible - I could never get an answer on the phone and emails were hit and miss. No one from TC attended when I picked up the van, and only by chance did I happen to notice that one of the tyres was threadbare and definitely not road legal. Coupled with being given the van with an empty tank, our setting off was somewhat delayed. The tap in the van didn't work and there were a number of other problems with what was ultimately a pretty tatty van given the age. I raised all these issues with the owner, but got no response despite many attempt.
For the price we paid, I'd have expected a lot better service.

We hired a VW van at the end of December from Tyne Campers and they kindly let us collect it a few days early at no extra cost. Communication was excellent with Jen and when we collected Tom was very friendly and went through all the how-to’s with us as it was our first time. The van itself was very clean, had everything we needed and we were so impressed by the diesel heater- it kept us lovely and toasty on the cold winter nights. We will definitely be hiring again and have already recommended to friends and family. Thank you Tyne Campers!

We hired a VW camper for a week and drove the southwest Scotland 300 route. The van was brand new and had everything we needed, fridge, sink, gas jobs, pans, plates etc. The van comes with an awning/tent but as there was just the two of us and two small dogs we left this behind. We drove about 540 miles which cost us £65 in petrol to fill the tank back up so it was surprisingly economical. Communication with Jen and Tom was really easy and the collection and drop off process was quick, we were even able to collect the camper earlier than expected so got our holiday underway sooner. We will definitely hire from Tyne campers again 🙂

From the very start of the booking service they proved to be very professional, always replying to queries as soon as possible.

The van itself was immaculate and they even provided little extras, including outdoor seating, table and utensils to cook with.

The van was a big part of our 2 week tour around Scotland and I wouldn't use anyone else after the service we received from Tyne Campers. Brilliant company.

We’ve just had the most fantastic January camping experience in a VW Transporter van hired from here!
Jen has been most helpful as we had to change our original booking, she enabled us to transfer to another date of our choosing.
We were toasty warm in the comfortable well equipt van with every amenity. The glorious Keswick weather was a bonus and the frosty morning sunrise views from the van were unforgettable.

We hired a VW campervan from Tyne Campers based on Bede Industrial Estate for four nights. From start to finish regarding the booking we were dealt with efficiently and received all information needed by email. The van was well presented, clean, tidy with everything you need. Tom was very helpful in explaining how everything worked in the van when we collected it. It was a great experience and so glad we gave it a try.

I hired a campervan from Tyne Campers in May. They have a few models all of which are new. The correspondence with Jen and Tom was excellent and understanding as I needed to move my rental date a couple of times due to various lockdowns. Handover was quick and friendly. The camper has all of the mod cons you’d expect with a VW T6. Off grid layovers were something I wanted to do and Tyne Campers were supportive in this respect. There are a number of additional items that you can add to your booking to ensure you have everything you need. Highly recommended 👍
