This place ran my background prior to arrival and said I was good to join the company. I put in a 2 weeks notice to leave my job prior to starting orientation for Marten. I passed all my tests. Marten took my picture. I finished most of the videos and tests. I submitted my drug screen. The first day I got there I was pulled out of class and was told they didn’t want to hire me and to pack up my things at the hotel. I was told they were sending me home on my first day. Remind you all, I put in a 2 weeks notice to leave my trucking company to join Marten. Now I’m unemployed because of this

Been in the transportation industry for two decades, have only been with Marten for just over one year started November 2022. I know you can’t please everybody so perhaps I have just been very fortunate because I love it here.
I was blessed with a brand new truck, I know that’s not everyone’s story and believe me I’ve had my share of clunkers over the years so maybe I was just due lol. I also got very blessed and started right from the very start on an awesome dedicated account. I genuinely hope to be here for the “long haul” (sorry for the deliberate pun ?) but seriously I would really like this to be where I retire, I’m 44 years old, I love trucking, I pray the machines don’t take over before I’m ready to ride off into the proverbial sunset. So, given some good fortune and health I think I have at least another good two decades left in me.
Btw, I want to also offer an honorable mention to our shop here in Phoenix, never worked with one better. That’s not to degrade anyone else I’ve had the pleasure to work with and have had a good working relationship with but only to express how impressed I am with these guys here. I’m horrendous with names but everyone I’ve dealt with just seem to be good natured and I know that job isn’t easy, especially dealing with us drivers lol but everyone is great, seriously. I’m not actually sure who runs this shop but they’ve clearly cultivated an awesome culture and hired good people.
I love (sorry don’t recall his name) how the gentleman who works the inspection lane always greets me with “what’s up buddy”? There are a number of others I’ve worked with as well that I’d like to give a shoutout to but I’m not sure how to distinguish them individually and unfortunately my capacity for recalling names is abysmal.
Anyway, a sincere thanks to everyone, and I mean everyone within the Marten family.

This company had a driver pass away recently while on the road and would not aid his window in bringing his body home. One of friends had to turn to a charitable association in the hopes of receiving aid. That says a lot about what kind of company this is. To not even care enough about your employee's grieving widow to help her get her dead husband home from his job. And just leave his body in another state. Meanwhile paying to bring the truck home. It is shameful. And it is inhumane. I would be embarrassed to work for this company. I would be embarrassed to do business with them. Unreal.

I've been here over 3 yrs BUT I left for 4 mo. To try a lease purchase regretted it came right back and Marten welcomed me back with open arms I really do love it here and won't be leaving here again .Now we all know freight is slow BUT here atleast I have my minimum pay $1450 to rely on BUT the truth is it really hasn't been slow for me all around its a good company. I've been driving for over 30yrs I'm here because I want to be here.

I'm a trucker just cruising along I-10 this Wednesday morning. Cruise set 68 move to middle lane to pass slower truck and Lord almighty I see in my mirror Mr. Marten coming behind me right up to my trailer bumper flashing lights blowing horn. I'm thinking you want to pass me while I'm passing then use other left lane to pass me. I get over to the right and get flipped off as he passes.I bump up speed to 75 and pass him to snap pictures. Get truck number.Oh well turns out Mr. Marten isn't really Speedracer. He can't even do 70mph. He's just an inconsiderate IDIOT that's in a hurry. #67889. Moral of this story is don't be a Mr. MARTEN. We truckers are all doing this to make money to sustain a fairly good life for us, our loved ones and keep America going. Be nice and respectful. Have patience. Bad things can happen when you get impatient. Oh by the way, one mistake can ruin your chosen career. Your NOT THE BEST OF ANYTHING. Speed Limit doesn't mean Speed Minimum. Everyone hates to be tailgated.
